Chief Officer may approve earlier or immediate compliance with remediation notice
48 Chief Officer may approve earlier or immediate compliance with remediation notice
If the Chief Officer is of the opinion that the measures specified in a remediation notice should be taken —
on or before a date that is less than 7 days after the date of the notice; or
immediately,
in order to avert a dangerous situation, the Chief Officer may approve of the notice being issued or amended so as to require the measures to be taken —
on or before a date that is less than 7 days after the date of the notice; or
immediately.
The Chief Officer must give the person to whom a remediation notice is given written reasons for any opinion formed under subsection (1).
If the Chief Officer approves of a notice being issued or amended so as to require the measures to be taken immediately, a DGO must remain at any place where the measures are to be taken until the person to whom the notice is directed has been given the notice or amended notice.
