A document cannot be served by email under the RSC Order 72 if under rule 20(2) it cannot be filed electronically.

Rule 20(3) and (4), with any necessary changes, apply to a document being served by email in the same way as they apply to a document being filed electronically.

Subject to the RSC Order 9, this rule does not prevent a person from consenting to being served in a manner other than in accordance with the rules of court.
