38V Holder of dog supply approval to keep records
A person who holds a dog supply approval must keep, in relation to each dog supplied by the person to a relevant pet shop business, a record that —
contains the prescribed information in relation to the source and history of the dog; and
includes any evidence necessary to enable the information in the record to be verified.
The person must keep the record, even if the person ceases to hold the dog supply approval —
in the prescribed way, if any; and
for 5 years after the day on which the dog was supplied by the person.
If the regulations prescribe a time within which a record referred to in subsection (1) must be made, the record must be made within that time.
A person who fails to comply with this section commits an offence.
Penalty for this subsection: a fine of $5 000.
