385 Authorised use or disclosure of information
For the purposes of this Act, the use or disclosure of information is authorised if the information is used or disclosed in good faith —
for the purposes of, or in connection with, performing a function under this Act or another law; or
as required or authorised under this Act or another law; or
for the purposes of any legal proceedings arising under this Act or another law; or
under an order of a court or other person or body acting judicially; or
with the consent of the person to whom the information relates; or
in other circumstances prescribed by the regulations.
If the use or disclosure of information is authorised under subsection (1) —
no civil or criminal liability is incurred in respect of the use or disclosure; and
the use or disclosure is not to be regarded as a breach of any duty of confidentiality or secrecy imposed by law; and
the use or disclosure is not to be regarded as a breach of professional ethics or standards or as unprofessional conduct.
