10 Chancellor

(1)

The Senate must elect a person to hold office as Chancellor of the University.

(2A)

A person who is not a member of the Senate at the time the person is elected to hold office as Chancellor is a member of the Senate for so long as the person holds office as Chancellor.

(2)

Where the Chancellor is elected from amongst the members of the Senate the election creates a casual vacancy in the office of member of the Senate.

(3)

Subject to section 15, the Chancellor holds office for a term not exceeding 3 years to be determined by the Senate and is eligible for re‑election.

(4)

The Chancellor shall preside at all meetings of the Senate at which the Chancellor is present.
