4 Murdoch University
There shall be in the State of Western Australia a university, to be called “Murdoch University”.
The University shall be a body corporate and shall have perpetual succession and an official seal.
Subject to the provisions of this Act, the University —
may, in its corporate name acquire, accept, hold, deal with, charge, or dispose of real and personal property; and
is capable of suing and being sued in its corporate name and of doing and suffering all such other acts and things as bodies corporate may by law do and suffer.
All courts, judges and persons acting judicially shall take notice of the official seal of the University affixed to a document and shall presume that it was duly affixed.
The official seal of the University shall be kept in strict custody and shall not be used except in accordance with the direction of the Chancellor or as is prescribed by Statute.
