30 Removal of tags

(1)

Subject to subregulation (1a), a licensee or permit holder to whom tags have been issued shall ensure that, unless an inspector directs otherwise in writing, all of those tags which have been affixed to designated containers are removed therefrom by midnight on 31 December of the year in which those tags were so affixed.

Penalty: $1 000.

(1a)

A person shall not remove a tag from a designated container that contains hatchery produced pearl oysters or pearl oysters collected from a spat collector until all pearl oysters in that container exceed the minimum length.

(2)

A person who removes a tag from a designated container shall render the tag incapable of being used again under these regulations.

Penalty: $1 000.
