Commencement

In force

(1)

This Act comes into operation as follows —

(a)

Part 1 — on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent;

(b)

the rest of the Act other than sections 8(2) and (3) and 16 — on the day after that day;

(c)

section 16 — on the registration commencement time as defined in the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Commonwealth) section 306(2);

(d)

section 8(2) and (3) — on a day fixed by proclamation, and different days may be fixed for different provisions.

(2)

A proclamation cannot be made under subsection (1)(d) unless a draft of the proclamation has first been approved by each House of Parliament.
