48 Advertisements relating to referendums

(1)

In this section referendum notice means notice, advertisement, handbill or pamphlet in relation to a referendum and intended or calculated to affect the result of the referendum.

(2)

A person who publishes a referendum notice without the name and address of the person authorising it being shown at the end of it shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: $200.

(3)

A person who prints or publishes a printed referendum notice (other than an advertisement in a newspaper) without the name and place of business of the printer being printed at the end of it shall be guilty of an offence.

Penalty: $200.

(4)

A person who distributes a referendum notice published in contravention of subsection (2) or (3) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding $100.
