44D Support and other persons who may be present
(1)
In any proceedings under this Act (including in relation to a hearing in closed court) —
(a)
the person seeking to be protected by an order (or on whose behalf an order is sought) is entitled to have 1 or more persons near to provide support; and
(b)
the court may permit any person who is not a party to the proceedings to be in court.
(2)
A person to provide support is to be approved by the court and is not to be a person who is a witness in, or a party to, the proceedings.
