34 Inspector of Custodial Services to be notified of detention
(1)
As soon as practicable after a person is first taken into custody under a preventative detention order, the senior police officer nominated under section 24(2) in relation to the order must —
(a)
give the Inspector of Custodial Services a copy of the order; and
(b)
notify the Inspector of Custodial Services as to the place where the person is being detained.
(2)
The lawfulness of a person’s detention under a preventative detention order is not affected by a failure to comply with subsection (1).
