Where multiple persons have joint possession of a prohibited drug, one or more of them can be convicted of possessing the drug with intent to supply it to another co-possessor. The fact that the intended recipient already has a form of possession (joint possession) does not preclude a finding of intent to supply, because the physical transfer changes the nature of possession from joint to sole. The statutory definition of 'to supply' in s 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 (WA), which includes 'make available' and 'return', is broad enough to encompass this situation.
