Individual drug transactions, each below a commercial quantity, may be accumulated to establish trafficking in a large commercial quantity where they form part of a single criminal enterprise. Coded language in telephone intercepts may be interpreted by reference to the context of the conversations and the evidence as a whole, not merely by reference to expert evidence about commonly used code words. An inapt example in consciousness of guilt directions will not vitiate a trial where the directions as a whole clearly convey the correct approach. A non-parole period of 80% of the head sentence may be justified where the offender shows no genuine remorse and has poor rehabilitation prospects.
