A total effective sentence of 12 years' imprisonment for multiple drug offences involving large commercial quantities of MDMA, methylamphetamine and cocaine, where the offender planned, financed and facilitated the enterprise, is within the range of a sound sentencing discretion. An offender's failure to provide valuable cooperation to police under a plea agreement cannot aggravate sentence but equally cannot be relied upon in mitigation.
