A sentence of six years' imprisonment for manslaughter by stabbing a stranger in a public place is manifestly inadequate where the offender has a prior conviction for a remarkably similar knife attack on a stranger while drug-affected. Prior similar offending is a particularly important factor that must be given full weight, and voluntary intoxication cannot mitigate where the offender knew of his propensity to extreme violence when drug-affected. The appropriate range for such offending was eight years' imprisonment.
