When a co-offender receives a suspended sentence through the Drug Court program, the parity principle has little or no application to the suspension or rehabilitative aspects of that sentence. The legitimate comparison for parity purposes is between the initial indicated sentence imposed by the Drug Court and the sentence imposed in the conventional court. The analogy is drawn to comparing Children's Court and Local Court sentences for the same offence — the different statutory objectives render direct comparison unproductive.
