The range of sentences imposed in past cases does not fix the boundaries within which future sentences must be passed; the outcome in only two comparable cases is insufficient to establish an identifiable sentencing pattern. A total effective sentence of 4 years and 2 months' imprisonment for a single extended incident involving threats to kill, criminal damage, unlawful possession and discharge of firearms, and assault on a police officer was within the range of a sound sentencing discretion.
