A strong subjective case including PTSD, prior good character, cooperation with authorities, early guilty plea, and excellent rehabilitation prospects does not render a mid-range sentence for commercial cannabis cultivation and supply manifestly excessive where the offender acted as principal in both offences. The proportionality principle requires that a sentence not fall below what the objective gravity of the offence requires.
