Where co-offenders are sentenced under aggregate sentences that include different combinations of offences, the indicative sentence for the shared offence may be used to assess parity. However, where the co-offender's indicative sentence is manifestly inadequate, the disparity does not give rise to a legitimate sense of grievance warranting appellate intervention, even where the applicant's sense of grievance is understandable.
