A licence disqualification period of double the statutory minimum for dangerous driving causing death, where the sole cause was momentary inattention by a driver of otherwise unblemished record, is manifestly excessive where the combination sentence already sufficiently punishes the offender, there is no community protection need, and the sentencing judge gives no reasons for the period imposed. The absence of expressed reasons for the period of disqualification fortifies a finding of manifest excess.
