Where an offender provides a truthful statement implicating a co-offender and gives an undertaking to testify (which is honoured), the discount for cooperation must be sufficiently reflected in the sentence to avoid infringing the parity principle. The Court left open whether the seriousness of the offence can cap the proportionate discount for cooperation.
