A base sentence of 12 years' imprisonment for trafficking in a large commercial quantity of drugs involving quantities 79 times (methamphetamine), 33 times (cocaine) and 3 times (MDMA) the LCQ thresholds is manifestly inadequate, notwithstanding a guilty plea and clean record. The provision of sentencing snapshots by the prosecution and failure to object to a proposed sentencing range does not enliven the residual discretion on a Crown appeal.
