A sentence of 6 years' imprisonment for a rolled-up charge of possessing six firearms (including a semi-automatic assault rifle) in contravention of a firearm prohibition order was within range, particularly where the offender flagrantly disobeyed the FPO by acquiring further firearms after police seizure. A sentence of 8 years and 6 months for orchestrating a drive-by shooting using a high-powered shotgun was within range where the offender was the instigator, planner and director. A total effective sentence of 21 years and 6 months was appropriate for aggregate offending of this scale and seriousness.
