53 Licence—surrender
A licensee may surrender a licence to operate a facility to the regulator by giving the regulator notice of the licensee’s intention to surrender the licence.
The notice must be in writing and include the following information:
the name of the licensee;
the unique identifier for the licence;
the day on which the surrender notice is given to the regulator;
the reason the licensee is surrendering the licence.
The licensee may nominate a day, on or after the day the surrender notice is given to the regulator, on which the surrender of the licence takes effect.
The surrender of a licence takes effect on the earlier of—
28 days after the day the licensee gives the surrender notice to the regulator; and
the day nominated by the licensee.
