84 Identity cards
The regulator must give each authorised person an identity card stating their name and appointment as an authorised person and showing—
a recent photograph of the person; and
the date of issue of the card; and
the date of expiry of the card; and
anything else prescribed by regulation.
A person commits an offence if—
the person stops being an authorised person; and
the person fails to return their identity card to the regulator within 7 days of the day the person stops being an authorised person.
Maximum penalty: 10 penalty units.
Subsection (2) does not apply to a person if the person’s identity card is—
lost or stolen; or
destroyed by another person.
The defendant has an evidential burden in relation to the matters mentioned in s (3) (see Criminal Code, s 58).
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
