23 Suspension or cancellation
This section applies if a licensee—
is found guilty of an offence against this Act; or
contravenes a condition of the licence; or
contravenes a requirement in the manual.
If the controller believes on reasonable grounds that it is necessary to do so in the interests of the health or safety of any person affected by the licensee’s activities, the controller may, by written notice to the licensee—
suspend the licence for a stated period of not longer than 6 months; or
cancel the licence.
The suspension or cancellation of the licence takes effect—
on the day the notice of the suspension or cancellation is given to the licensee; or
if a later day is stated in the notice—the later day.
This section is subject to section 24.
