Community Title Act 2001

If a body corporate makes a by-law, the body corporate must, within 3 months after passing the resolution for making the by-law, lodge an application for registration of the by-law with the registrar‑general—

setting out the text of the by-law; and

stating the nature of the resolution by which the by-law was made; and

stating the day the resolution for making the by-law was passed.

If the application is not lodged within 3 months, the resolution ceases to have effect.

A by-law commences on the day the registrar-general registers the by-law or, if a later day is stated in the by-law, the later day.
