641 Release of person from custody
(1)
This section applies if, on the commencement day, the director‑general responsible for the Crimes (Sentence Administration) Act 2005 is required under this part to release from custody a person who committed, or is alleged to have committed, a youth offence.
(2)
The director-general responsible for that Act must ensure that reasonable steps are taken to ensure the safety of the person on the person’s release from custody.
