34 Oversight entities may refer matter to inspector
This section applies if an oversight entity reasonably believes that a matter can be more appropriately dealt with by the inspector.
The oversight entity may decide not to deal with the matter and to refer the matter together with any relevant documents or information in the entity’s possession or control, to the inspector.
The oversight entity may enter into arrangements with the inspector about the referral of matters under this section.
Nothing in this section requires the inspector to deal with the referred matter.
In this section:
matter—
means a complaint or other matter; and
includes a part of a complaint or other matter.
oversight entity—see section 33 (4).
