16N Information kept on register—admissibility of evidence

(1)

The following are not admissible as evidence in a proceeding before a court:

(a)

a record of information on the register;

(b)

an oral statement made to a person exercising a function of the DFVR coordinator;

(c)

a document given to a person exercising a function of the DFVR coordinator, but only to the extent that it was prepared only for the person;

(d)

a document prepared by a person exercising a function of the DFVR coordinator.

(2)

This section is subject to section 16R (Sharing information with Coroner’s Court).

(3)

In this section:

court includes a tribunal, authority or person with power to require the production of documents or the answering of questions.
