Electoral Act 1992

The Minister may arrange with the appropriate Minister of the Commonwealth or a State—

for officers or employees of the public service of the Commonwealth or State, or of an authority of the Commonwealth or State, to exercise the powers of an officer under this Act; or

to make a member of the electoral commission, the commissioner or a member of the staff of the commission available for the exercise of powers on behalf of the corresponding electoral authority of the Commonwealth or State.
