44 Notice of cancellation proposal
The council must prepare a written notice of each cancellation proposal.
A notice under subsection (1)—
is a notifiable instrument; and
must be notified under the Legislation Act within 5 working days after the day the proposal is given to the council.
The council must, as soon as practicable, give additional public notice of the notice under subsection (1).
Public notice means notice on an ACT government website or in a daily newspaper circulating in the ACT (see Legislation Act, dict, pt 1). The requirement in s (3) is in addition to the requirement for notification on the legislation register as a notifiable instrument.
The council must give a copy of the notice to each interested person as far as practicable within 15 working days after—
for a cancellation proposal made by a person—the day the proposal is given to the council; or
for a cancellation proposal made by the council—the day the council makes the proposal.

A notice under this section must include the following:
the registration details of the place or object;
the proponent’s reasons for the cancellation proposal;
the date the proposal was given to the council.
The notice must not include restricted information.
