17 Independence of commissioner’s staff
(1)
A member of the commissioner’s staff is, in relation to the exercise of a function under this Act or another territory law under which the member exercises a function, not subject to the direction of anyone except—
(a)
the commissioner; or
(b)
another member of the commissioner’s staff who is authorised by the commissioner to give directions.
(2)
In this section:
commissioner’s staff means—
(a)
a public servant mentioned in section 15; and
(b)
a consultant or contractor engaged by the commissioner under section 16.
