Operating unregistered boat

In force

(1)

A person commits an offence if—

(a)

the person operates a power boat on a lake; and

(b)

the boat is not—

(i)

registered under a law of a State; or

(ii)

exempt from registration under a law of a State.

Maximum penalty: 30 penalty units.

Note State includes the Northern Territory (see Legislation Act, dict, pt 1).

(2)

An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
