Interfering with safety equipment

In force

(1)

A person commits an offence if the person—

(a)

unties or detaches any safety equipment stored in a lake area; and

(b)

unties or detaches the equipment for a purpose other than for—

(i)

securing the safety of any person; or

(ii)

preventing the loss of, or damage to, property.

Maximum penalty: 30 penalty units.

(2)

An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
