10 Who is a voluntary member?
(1)
An individual is a voluntary member for a covered industry if—
(a)
the individual is—
(i)
a contractor; or
(ii)
a working director; or
(iii)
declared to be a voluntary member for the industry under section 12; and
(b)
the individual is not declared not to be a voluntary member for the industry under section 13.
(2)
In this section:
contractor means an individual (other than an employee) who carries out work in the industry for another person for fee or reward on the individual’s own account.
working director means a person who is both a director and an employee of a company.
