54 Receipt for things seized
(1)
As soon as practicable after a thing is seized under this part, the director-general must give a receipt for it to—
(a)
the owner of the thing; or
(b)
if the owner cannot be identified after reasonable inquiries (given the thing’s apparent value)—the person from whom the thing was seized.
(2)
The receipt must include the following:
(a)
a description of the thing seized;
(b)
an explanation of why the thing was seized;
(c)
a statement about the effect of section 55;
(d)
anything else prescribed by regulation.
(3)
In this section:
owner, of a thing, includes a person entitled to possession of the thing.
