Receipt for seized thing
450 Receipt for seized thing
As soon as practicable after an authorised person seizes a thing under this chapter, the authorised person must give a receipt for it to the person from whom it was seized.
If, for any reason, it is not practicable to comply with subsection (1), the authorised person must leave the receipt, secured conspicuously, at the premises where the thing was seized.
The receipt must include the following:
a description of the thing seized;
why the thing was seized;
the authorised person’s name, and information about how to contact the officer;
if the thing is moved from the premises—the address where the thing is to be taken;
if an authorised person has restricted access to the thing under section 441 (4) (b) (Power to seize things)—that it is an offence under section 441 (5) to interfere with the thing without an authorised person’s approval.
