Validity of oath or affirmation
22 Validity of oath or affirmation
Where a person has taken or made an oath or affirmation the person is required or permitted to take or make in accordance with a form prescribed by or under a law in force in the ACT or in any form and manner that the person has stated to be binding on him or her, that person is bound by the oath or affirmation for all purposes for which it was taken or made.
Where a person has taken an oath in accordance with this Act or another law in force in the ACT, the fact that the person did not at the relevant time have any religious belief or did not for any other reason regard the oath as binding on the person does not affect the validity of that oath.
