Disclosure of information by commission in some cases
46 Disclosure of information by commission in some cases
If a licence is issued, suspended or cancelled, or the suspension of the licence is ended, the commission may tell anyone about the matter if, in the commission’s opinion, it is in the public interest to do so.
Information given under subsection (1) may include the name and address of the licensee.
A regulation may require the commission to give information (including the name and address of the licensee) to an entity prescribed under the regulation about the issue, suspension, cancellation, or the ending of the suspension, of a licence.
A civil or criminal action, or other proceeding (whether in a court or the ACAT), does not lie against the commission, or a member, officer or employee of the commission, merely because of the disclosure of information in accordance with this section or the regulations.
This section applies despite any other Territory law.
