Totalisator Act 2014

The Minister may issue a temporary licence to a person to conduct a totalisator if—

the licence to conduct the totalisator has been suspended, cancelled or surrendered; and

the Minister is satisfied it is in the public interest to issue a temporary licence.

The Minister must not issue a temporary licence to a person unless the person—

is a corporation; and

is an eligible person.

The temporary licence is issued on the conditions the Minister considers appropriate.

The temporary licence ends when the first of the following happens:

if the temporary licence is issued because the licence to conduct the totalisator has been suspended—the end of the suspension period;

the issue of another licence to conduct the totalisator;

the end of 90 days (or any longer period prescribed by regulation) after the day the temporary licence is issued.

Division 6.5 Offences relating to totalisator
