Totalisator Act 2014

A licensee may prepare rules consistent with this Act for the conduct of a totalisator.

Without limiting subsection (1), the rules may make provision in relation to the liability of the licensee, the licensee’s agent or anyone else acting under the licensee’s authority in relation to the following:

making bets on the totalisator;

printing and issuing betting tickets;

determining the entitlement (if any) of a person to a dividend in a totalisator;

paying dividends in, or refunding money bet on, the totalisator.

The licensee must give the rules to the commission for approval.

The commission must—

approve the rules; or

refuse to approve the rules; or

direct the licensee to make a stated change to the rules.

The rules approved by the commission (the totalisator rules) are a notifiable instrument.
