26 Claim by owner before disposal
Where, at any time before the disposal of uncollected goods, a person satisfies the possessor that the person is the owner of goods, the possessor may give the goods to that person.
The possessor may, before handing over goods under subsection (1), require the owner to pay—
the reasonable costs incurred by the possessor in complying with this Act; and
the reasonable costs incurred by the possessor in storing and maintaining the goods prior to collection; and
the amount of any lien under the Mercantile Law Act 1962 the possessor has over the goods; and
the amount of any unpaid rent the owner owes to the possessor.
