52 Power to take immediate action
The board may take immediate action in relation to a registered veterinary practitioner if—
the board reasonably believes that—
because of the practitioner’s conduct, performance or health, the practitioner poses a serious risk to people or animals; and
it is necessary to take immediate action to protect public health or safety or the safety of animals; or
the practitioner’s registration was improperly obtained because the practitioner or someone else gave the board information or a document that was false or misleading in a material particular; or
the practitioner’s registration has been cancelled or suspended under the law of another jurisdiction.
However, the board may take immediate action that consists of suspending, or imposing a condition on, the veterinary practitioner’s registration only if the board has complied with section 53.
