53 Show cause process
If the board is proposing to suspend, or impose a condition on, a registered veterinary practitioner’s registration under section 52, the board must—
give the practitioner notice of the proposed suspension or condition; and
invite the practitioner to make a submission to the board, within the time stated in the notice about the proposed suspension or condition.
A notice given to a registered veterinary practitioner under subsection (1), and any submissions made by the veterinary practitioner in accordance with the notice, may be written or oral.
The board must have regard to any submissions made by the registered veterinary practitioner in accordance with this section in deciding whether to suspend or impose conditions on the veterinary practitioner’s registration.
