19 Authorised person may require the provision of information
An authorised person may, by notice in writing given to the operator of an aircraft, require the operator to give the authorised person, within 30 days of receiving the notice:
information relating to the noise level of the aircraft; or
information relevant to determining whether a take‑off or landing of the aircraft was permitted by paragraph 16(a) (emergencies).
An operator commits an offence if:
the operator is subject to a notice under subsection (1); and
the operator engages in conduct; and
the operator’s conduct contravenes the notice.
Penalty: 50 penalty units.
If the operator is a body corporate, the maximum penalty that may be imposed is 250 penalty units (see subsection 4B(3) of the Crimes Act 1914).

This section does not affect a person’s right to refuse to give information on the ground that the information, or giving the information, might tend to incriminate the person or expose the person to a penalty.
In this section:
engage in conduct means:
do an act; or
omit to perform an act.
