15 Termination of office of member

(1)

The Minister may terminate the appointment of a member, being a member appointed by the Minister, by reason of misbehaviour or physical or mental incapacity.

(2)

If a member appointed by the Minister is absent, except on leave granted by the Council, from 3 consecutive meetings of the Council, the Minister may terminate the appointment of the member.

(3)

A member chosen by either House of the Parliament may be removed from office by that House.

(4)

If a member chosen by either House of the Parliament or a deputy of such a member ceases to be a member of that House, he or she shall cease to be a member of the Council or a deputy of such a member.

(5)

For the purposes of subsection (4), a member of either House of the Parliament shall be deemed not to have ceased to be a member of that House while he or she continues to be entitled to the Parliamentary allowances that became payable to him or her as such a member.
