55 Authority may obtain information from project proponent

Scope

(1)

This section applies to the project proponent for a major project if an approved AIP plan is, or has been, in force for the project.

Requirement

(2)

The Authority may, by written notice given to the project proponent, require the proponent to:

(a)

give to the Authority such information relating to the project as is specified in the notice; and

(b)

do so within the period and in the manner and form specified in the notice.

(3)

A period specified under paragraph (2)(b) must not be shorter than 14 days after the notice is given.

Compliance

(4)

A person must comply with a requirement under subsection (2) to the extent that the person is capable of doing so.

Self‑incrimination

(5)

An individual is excused from giving information under this section on the ground that the information might tend to incriminate the individual or expose the individual to a penalty.

General information‑gathering power not limited

(6)

This section does not, by implication, limit section 50.
