56 Authority may obtain information from operator of new relevant facility
Scope
If:
an approved AIP plan is, or has been, in force for a major project; and
the project involves establishing a new relevant facility;
this section applies to the operator of the new relevant facility.
Requirement
The Authority may, by written notice given to the operator, require the operator to:
give to the Authority such information relating to the operation of the new relevant facility as is specified in the notice; and
do so within the period and in the manner and form specified in the notice.
A period specified under paragraph (2)(b) must not be shorter than 14 days after the notice is given.
Compliance
A person must comply with a requirement under subsection (2) to the extent that the person is capable of doing so.
Self‑incrimination
An individual is excused from giving information under this section on the ground that the information might tend to incriminate the individual or expose the individual to a penalty.
General information‑gathering power not limited
This section does not, by implication, limit section 50.
