8B Prohibition on certain kinds of construction, etc
(1)
Nothing in this Act is to be taken to authorise the construction or operation of any of the following:
(a)
a nuclear fuel fabrication plant;
(b)
a nuclear power plant;
(c)
an enrichment plant;
(d)
a reprocessing facility.
(2)
Paragraph (1)(b) does not apply to a nuclear power plant (however described) that is related to use in an AUKUS submarine.
(3)
The Regulator must not issue a licence in respect of the construction or operation of a plant or facility to which subsection (1) applies.
